Our Story

Food Safety & Quality Systems, LLC

Food Safety and Quality Systems, LLC was founded in 2008 to provide Implementing SQF Systems Practitioner Training for food and packaging manufacturing facilities seeking SQF Certification.  

When Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements began in the United States, there was only one training center licensed to provide training to the thousands of facilities that received letters from retailers.  

A partnership with SQFI was established to meet the immediate needs for training courses nationwide. In that first year Christina and Marty provided training to more than 600 participants representing over 250 companies. Today, Food Safety and Quality Systems, LLC has trained more than 12,000 folks from the United States, Mexico Canada. We are not a large corporate training center with sub-contracted consultants or trainers. We are still a family-owned, small business with only a hand full of people on our Team.  

What began as simply providing SQF Practitioner Training courses has since grown into a company that provides consulting services, GAP assessments, program development and interim management personnel to fill temporary gaps in your Quality team.

Today, we have on-staff expert trainers that provide a vast curriculum including Certified HACCP, PCQI, SQF, Internal Auditor and many other courses to help companies achieve GFSI Certification, USDA and FDA compliance.

Our experienced consultants have supported hundreds of manufacturing facilities in developing, writing and implementing HACCP/Preventive Control Plans, Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.  

We are passionate about helping facilities achieve their goals of implementing a strong food safety and quality system with the results of those efforts to achieve and maintain GFSI Certification.

The rewarding part of helping a facility is when food safety culture is embraced at the senior leadership level but more importantly when we can see it in practice at the employee level.   

The future… who knows? We certainly hope to continue providing training courses as long as folks want to come to us for training.
